「道成了肉身,住在我們中間,充充滿滿的有恩典(Charis)有真理(Alethia)。我們也見過他的榮光,正是父獨生子的榮光。」(約翰福音1:14)

Devotion for theologians

“I believe that many who find that ‘nothing happens’ when they sit down, or kneel down, to a book of devotion, would find that the heart sings unbidden while they are working their way through a tough bit of theology with a pipe in their teeth and a pencil in their hand.”

C. S. Lewis (from his introduction of The Incarnation of the Word of God: being the Treatise of St. Athanasius, 1944)

This is so true. Theology is not “dry” compared to “devotions.” I find that distinction so tiring. Every student at a seminary seems to make it. They are just different ways of thinking about God.
