Desire is the root problem. In 1 John 2:16, it says the three things that come from the world are: "the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does." Sometimes desire does not come merely in economical terms, but also in convenience and instant gratification. Sometimes it's not as if we cannot afford paying, but we can't wait for the real thing, and end up be tempted to buy or download a counterfeit pre-released copy of something..... (remember last time that Japanese movie we watched together? I should have waited for the official release, and then the disc won't be skipping....) Hmm..... it seems like I'm describing the issues of pre-marital sex and cohabitation too. We can't wait for the real deal, and end up having the experience of its original beauty and joy ruined.
