Christianity is not about how pure and righteous we must become before we can approach God, but how merciful and loving God is in accepting us while we are still sinners. Only on the fundamental basis of God&#039;s grace and love, we can then talk about His holiness. Without the sine qua non of grace, holiness only leads to a remote and wrathful God that unless you are &quot;good enough&quot; or &quot;spiritual enough&quot;, you don&#039;t dare to approach Him. 

Unfortunately, I observe that some traditions of Chinese Christian piety holds this kind of understanding of God, which over-emphasizes our level of devoutness and commitment to God rather than God&#039;s abundant grace and acceptance, and it ultimately leads to poor spiritual self-image, perfectionism, and exhaustion.</description>

If God does not listen to sinner&#039;s prayer, all those claiming God listen their prayers are either liars, lunatics or idiots.... for all those are sinners just like us.</description>
